Cellislet® fiber cell disks is a solid support matrix for mammalian, animal and insect cells growth, mainly for secreted products (such as recombinant proteins and viruses). It is made of high purity polyester fiber which is suitable for cell adherent growth, and the material used meets the requirements of USP<88> plastic classification VI. The effective surface area of each gram of carrier is about 1800~2200cm2, which has highly efficient utilization of surface area and three-dimensional spatial structure, and it can maintain high-density growth of perfusion culture for a long period of time, avoiding the risk of clogging; and reducing the need of cell filtration from the final product. and reduce the need for cell filtration from the final product.

Cell Disks Characteristics:

  • Low pressure loss in the bed through the culture basket reduces variability and maintains cell activity in the bed;
  • High surface volume ratio increases biomass and maintains high bioreactor throughput;
  • Embedded cells are protected from eddy currents and avoid damage due to shear forces from stirring paddles and deep aeration bubbles;
